The Contemporary Choir, alongside the musicians from Jam Hot Showband, hosted their magical Christmas concert in December to raise vital funds for The Myton Hospices and Mind Charity.
The evening was a festive delight, with performances of Christmas hits and arrangements from Home Alone, Coldplay, The Beatles, Elbow, Wicked and Mary Poppins to name just a few.
Based in Stratford and Warwick, The Contemporary Choir is a 400-member rock, pop, Disney and musical theatre choir in their 7th year of performing and raising vital funds for The Myton Hospices.
At December’s concert, the group raised an amazing £4,021 for Myton!
Run by husband and wife duo, Paul and Melissa Asbridge, the couple said:
We started raising for Myton as one of The Contemporary Choir’s founding members, Heather Smith, was cared for by the team. We remember going to visit her and just being in awe of what The Myton Hospices is.
The warm, lovely team, the calm surroundings and the overall atmosphere that I experienced in the short time I was there visiting left a real impression on me. Upon finding out how vital donations are to the running of the facility, I pledged that my business would do all we can to support.
All of our performances are in aid of The Myton Hospices, and we’re proud to give to a cause that helps so many local people, at a time when they really need it.
Every concert during their seven years of performing has been in aid of Myton, together with other worthy charities, and over the years, the group have now raised over £18,000 for Myton.
Louise Careless, Community Fundraiser at The Myton Hospices, said:
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Melissa, Paul and every single member of The Contemporary Choir.
Each year, we have to raise over £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it costs to continue providing our services free of charge to people and their families living with life-limiting illnesses.
The choir’s fundraising over the last seven years, raising over £18,000 for Myton, is amazing and crucial in ensuring we can be there for more people when they need us most, now and in the future. Thank you to The Contemporary Choir!
